Aon Sponsors Team Creative’s Participation In The Leeds West Indian Carnival 2022

Aon plc (NYSE: AON), a leading global professional services firm, has this week announced that it is sponsoring the Team Creative troupe and supporting its involvement in the Leeds West Indian Carnival celebrations on 29 August.

Aon, which employs 115 insurance and risk management specialists across its five Yorkshire offices, is committed to supporting initiatives that create greater equity and inclusion among its colleagues and in the community. Through Aon’s sponsorship, Team Creative, a non-profit organisation founded by Tashi Brown in 2016, can fund and create the sunset paradise-themed costumes for its 160-strong troupe, which will participate in the Leeds West Indian Carnival BIG parade on Bank Holiday Monday in August. The troupe will include people of all backgrounds and ages.

In addition to attending Leeds West Indian Carnival, Team Creative provides food parcels, mental health support and projects for children in the local community. Aon’s sponsorship enables Team Creative to continue to deliver community services at no cost to participants.

Cheryl Archibald, senior broker at Aon Leeds, said:
“My family has been involved with the Leeds West Indian Carnival since it was founded, so I have participated in this incredible event for a long time. When the opportunity arose to sponsor Team Creative’s troupe at the Leeds West Indian Carnival - which is all about celebrating heritage - I thought it fitted perfectly with Aon’s social commitments, which place inclusivity and diversity at their heart. It is also a fantastic opportunity to highlight the career opportunities at Aon among the Leeds community.

“The sponsorship enables Team Creative to continue its incredible work with local people, addressing the underserved and making a difference for individuals who need support.”

Tashi Brown, Team Creative founder, said:
“Team Creative’s involvement with the Leeds West Indian Carnival is a day of celebration, unity and cohesion. It's going to be an amazing day for all involved, with the beautifully designed costumes, electric energy and community spirit bringing everyone together to celebrate diversity, culture and heritage. As a non-profit organisation, we rely on sponsorship, as many of our service users are from low-income families and impoverished areas within Leeds.

“With the support from Aon and the Leeds West Indian Carnival, we have been able to provide an experience free for all of our participants. This has included mental health wellbeing sessions, fitness classes, self-esteem workshops and team-building activities, including many for our young members. We are excited for the carnival, and we look forward to seeing everyone come together.”
