Claus For Celebration With The New Zizzi Merry Moments Menu!

Even Santa Claus would have cause for celebration with the new value menus from Zizzi and let’s face it, we all need something to cheer us up after the last 9 months

The Jolly Menu offers 3 courses for £19.99 whilst the Merry Moments Menu offers 3 courses and a drink for £24.95 with a greater range of food options. Both menus are available until 31st December 2020.

I tried the Merry Moments Menu. Your drink is either the Glass of House Prosecco Venetian, a bottle of Peroni Nastro Azzurro or for something lighter the Something and Nothing option which includes Hibiscus and Rose Seltzer - sparking low calorie water made from natural ingredients. Or if you prefer like me you can order a Diet Coke.

My starter of Cheese & Truffle Honey Pasta Parcels came as the name suggests with parcels filled with 4 different cheeses - it was hard to tell what the 4 cheeses were, all I could taste was a cheddar taste. Served with black truffle honey and crispy rosemary the contrasts of tastes worked better than you might imagine. There are at least 6 other starter options you could choose from.

The Misto Di Carne Antipasto served on a board comes with a trio of cured meats: prosciutto, spianata and speck and is served with 2 small bread rolls.

The mains include at least over 10 options. My partner chose the Rustica Pinoli pizza. A few years ago you would be out of luck if you wanted Goat’s cheese on a pizza, popular in France it never took off this side of the channel until now, but as has become more popular here, which probably explains why it is on Rustics Pinoli pizza. That’s not the only topping though - there is the usual mozzarella and caramelised onions (something that you would never get on a pizza in Italy), baby slow roast tomatoes, pine nuts and riserva cheese. A colourful pizza in taste and presentation.

My main of the new Rusitica Truffle Salami Pizza comes with mushrooms, but I opted to have those taken off as even the smell of mushrooms puts me off. Perhaps the pizza could have done with another flavour adding? The Truffle and Pork Salami comes in large slices and would even please Santa’s reindeer. It’s a white based pizza based on bechamel and scamorza with crispy prosciutto, baby bocconcini mozzarella and crispy sage and smoky garlic oil.

The new Chocolate Hazelnut Brownie Bomb has a big surprise - a hidden chocolate Rocher hazelnut centre. Served with Baci Brownie gelato, gold chocolate baubles and crushed honeycomb it was a very indulgent delight - a bit like eating a box of Quality Street all at once.

The Passion Fruit Cheesecake has been on the menu for a few years now, no wonder it is on the Jolly Menu as it never disappoints.

If you want to skip having the drink included then the 3 course Jolly Menu is still good value.

If you pay by card you can top up your bill by 25p to support the Mental Health Foundation and help everyone in the country understand, protect and sustain their mental health.

Everyone might not be in the Ho Ho Ho mood this Christmas but at least here you can let someone else do the cooking and enjoy a good value meal. Who knows you might even see one of Santa’s eleves!
