Croatia Boost As Leeds Bradford Airport Starts To Wind Up

The number of flights to Croatia and Bulgaria have increased out of Leeds Bradford Airport now that both countries have been added to the Green List of travel destinations.

In response to the demand from holidaymakers looking to get away to quarantine-free destinations, jet2.com and jet2holidays has added the following flights:

Bourgas (Bulgaria) – introduction of a new route for Summer 21, with weekly Sunday services operating from 25th July through to 29th August, giving holidaymakers access to the popular Sunny Beach and Nessebar resorts.
Dubrovnik (Croatia) – earlier start of flying with services now operating from 25th July.
Split (Croatia) – earlier start of flying with services now operating from 24th July.

Company CEO, Steve Heapy, said: “If customers have been fully vaccinated……and children under the age of 18 travelling with them…..they can continue to enjoy, or look forward to enjoying, quarantine-free flights and holidays from Leeds Bradford Airport to any destination on the Green or Amber List this summer.

“From the demand we are seeing this is most certainly the case, with local holidaymakers looking to enjoy the benefits of the successful vaccination programme by getting away to the sunshine.

“That said, as restrictions across the UK continue to be eased and ‘VIPs’ travel carte-blanche, it is still unfair that hardworking customers and families continue to be judged by a different and stricter set of rules when it comes to taking their well-deserved holidays. Travel is not, and should not be, the preserve of the wealthy and powerful.

“We know what huge demand there is for Green List destinations, so we have made an immediate decision to add more flying from Leeds Bradford Airport to Bourgas, Dubrovnik and Split this summer. On top of that, we have a huge choice of quarantine-free destinations on sale this summer and these are proving to be extremely popular with local holidaymakers.”

Customers who have not been fully-vaccinated and who are due to travel up to and including 11th August 2021 to any destination that is currently on the Amber List can cancel their booking with a full refund or amend their booking fee-free.

As Turkey is still on the Red List, Jet2 has also taken decision to suspend all flights and holidays up to and including 11th August and all affected customers will have their booking cancelled with a full refund.

The UK Government has committed to reviewing its Traffic Light status of overseas destinations every three weeks.
