Esplanade Gets Spruce Up

Scarborough’s Esplanade Hotel has been given a £500,000 facelift.

The work is part of Daish’s Holidays’ £1million nationwide refurbishment programme. Its 12 hotels have all been given a lick of paint designed to enhance the operator’s staycation offering.

Paul Harper, Sales and Marketing Director of Daish’s Holidays, said: “Our staycations are enjoyed by thousands of people across the UK all year round.

"We invest a lot of time into developing our holidays to ensure an autumn break is just as appealing as one of our coastal stays during the height of summer.

“This past year has been significant for us after we were impacted by the enforced closure of our hotels. Fortunately we have received bumper bookings across the board that bode well for the new year so it was important that we made this North Yorkshire investment to give guests an immediate benefit from our new look hotel.”

The public areas of the Esplanade, including the ballroom and bar, have undergone significant refurbishment to make the space more accessible for guests, whilst the terrace, which overlooks the Scarborough coastline, along with the hotel gardens, have been improved with the warmer months in mind.

Behind the scenes work has also been carried out including essential engineering work and the Esplanade’s roof has been replaced.

Daish’s Holidays acquired The Esplanade Hotel in March 2020 after seeing strong demand for a Daish’s facility in the area.

Paul added: “We are so proud to have the Esplanade in our portfolio and are pleased that it has already become a favourite with our guests who choose to book a break with us.

“This investment demonstrates our dedication to the hotel and the local area for years to come.”

The family-owned company now operates 12 hotels, located in 10 popular tourist destinations across England and Wales including Newquay and Weymouth. The company also has its own fleet of luxury coaches to transport guests in comfort from a number of pick-up points across the UK, stretching from West Yorkshire to Cornwall.
