Scampston Walled Garden Plans Halloween Event

Scampston Walled Garden, an outdoor visitor attraction near Malton in North Yorkshire, is bringing Halloween to its gates this Autumn season.

The event, which will run from Saturday 16th to Sunday 31st October (Wed-Sun each week), will include pumpkin picking, a Halloween trail around the walled garden, and tasty Halloween treats in the garden café. On Halloween weekend, visitors are also invited to three afternoons of Halloween-related games, crafts and creepy fun story walks around the parkland between 29th- 31st October. During the story walk, families will be taken around the parkland, stopping at different points to hear a spooky story performed by Scampston’s two witches. The event is perfect for families seeking something fun and a bit different.

As the weather cools down for autumn, the Halloween event will be one of the last opportunities for the residents of Ryedale and surrounding areas to explore the gardens before the estate closes for winter at the end of October. Along with Halloween, visitors can also enjoy Scampston’s walled garden and surrounding parkland, and the café will be available for warming food and hot drinks.

Marketing and Visitor Services Manager, Anna Walker, says:
“We are very excited to partake in Halloween activities this year and look forward to providing our local visitors and families with something really fun to enjoy before we close for the winter.”
