The Hairy Bikers Are Coming To The Southport Flower Show

Hairy Biker Dave Myers loved the Southport Flower show that much when he visited in 2019, he’s encouraged his best friend and co-presenter Si King to join him in 2021.

The celebrity chefs will be revving up some of their favourite summertime recipes as they appear in the Cookery Theatre on Saturday 21st August at 12:00pm and 2:00pm.

Si and Dave are known to millions of TV viewers for their culinary tours of the globe and have just released a Veggie Feasts cookbook which features over 100 delicious vegetarian and vegan recipes, full of flavour and meat-free.

Together they have fronted over 30 top-rated TV series, hosted Saturday Kitchen and appeared on numerous prime time shows including This Morning, The One Show and Lorraine.

The Hairy Bikers have also published more than 20 cookery books during a career spanning more than 20 years and filmed a TV series in the USA – the Hairy Bikers Ride Route 66 which was screened on BBC Two last year.

Si and Dave said:

"We are so excited to be coming back to Southport for the Flower Show in 2021, It's a year later than we expected but because of this we are looking forward to it even more. The Southport Flower Show really is brilliant and one of the highlights of summer. We will cook some of our latest dishes, have a really good laugh and look forward to spending some time with everyone. The Bikers are coming! Love Si and Dave.”

The Food Village will feature over 50 gourmet producers offering the opportunity to sample and buy organic and artisan produce.

The Cookery Theatre is where celebrity chefs demonstrate their skills and signature dishes. They have been lucky to have Simon Rimmer, Ainsley Harriott and Jean-Christophe Novelli entertain visitors over the years.

Alan Adams, General Manager of Southport Flower Show and Victoria Park said:

“We are very excited to welcome Si and Dave to Southport next summer.

"They bring a wealth of experience, skill and expertise gained from touring the world filming the hugely popular Hairy Bikers shows.

"We are sure Si and Dave’s cookery demonstrations will be a highlight of the show for visitors next year.

"We are working harder than ever to make next year’s show the best yet. We will be adhering to the government guidelines to deliver a covid secure event.

"It has been a tough year for us but looking forward to welcoming everyone back.

"We know the show is a firm favourite and a highlight of people’s summer”.

Visitors can enjoy stunning show gardens, floral displays, a unique shopping experience, fabulous entertainment, music plus fantastic fun, crafts and entertainment for the children.

Tickets for next year can be purchased for £18.50 until the end of December 2020. This is a £7.50 saving per ticket compared to the gate price of £26. Children under 16 go free with a paying adult.
