Whether it’s changing tyres or replacing windscreen wipers, Uswitch has analysed google search data to reveal the most common motoring queries in the UK.

At 19,200 Google searches since August 2020, ‘How much oil does my car need’ is the most asked motoring question among Brits.

Brits also made over 15,000 Google searches in the last year around how to open a car bonnet.

Take a look at a number of other questions including windscreen and break related questions we’ve been asking google here: https://www.uswitch.com/car-insurance/guides/the-most-googled-motoring-problems-in-the-uk/

You can face fines of up to £2,500 and receive three penalty points if your vehicle is found to be in a dangerous condition, which can include engine damage due to insufficient checks of the engine oil. It can even void your car insurance.

Joel Kempson, Car Insurance expert at Uswitch, said:
“It is important to conduct safety checks on your vehicle regularly. This includes the engine oil levels, the windscreen, windows and mirrors, and all lights.
Failure to carry out these checks can result in fines of up to £2,500 and three penalty points on your driving license for driving a vehicle in a dangerous condition.”
