Tourism Demand Prompts Change By Israel

Following a 128% increase in tourist entries to the country, The Israel Ministry of Tourism has announced that it is working on an outline plan to allow individually vaccinated tourists to visit Israel from the beginning of November.

The aim is to begin the ‘rehabilitation’ of the tourism industry and to ensure that the hundreds of thousands of people working in the industry can continue to earn a living.

Israel is currently only allowing organized tourist groups of 5-30 tourists from “green, yellow and orange” countries to visit the country.

The move comes after 34,500 tourist entries into Israel were recorded in September 2021, compared to 15,100 in September 2020 and 405,000 in September 2019: this represents an increase of 128% in relation to September last year but 91.5% less when compared with September 2019.
