Leave The Car At Home This Easter And Experience Cumbrian Days Out With Stagecoach Buses

There are some cracking things for all the family to do around Cumbria during the Easter holidays - all without getting behind the wheel. Here is a selection with Stagecoach buses doing the driving.

Keswick
Keswick
A day out in Keswick for £2
There are still three months left to take advantage of £2 bus fares in Cumbria.

Stagecoach is taking part in the Department for Transport’s nationwide scheme which caps all single fares at just £2 and now runs until the end of June.
So why not take up the offer and enjoy a day trip to Keswick this Easter? £2 isn’t just far less than it’d cost to drive there, it’s also much cheaper than the cost of parking.

Taking the bus is much less stressful and Stagecoach’s 554 service from Carlisle to Keswick via Wigton takes in some of north Cumbria’s most spectacular scenery as it heads down the shore of Bassenthwaite in the shadow of Skiddaw.

So enjoy the journey, read a book or newspaper, and once in Keswick, in the heart of the Lakes, there’s plenty to do.

Have a stroll around Derwentwater or take to the water with the Keswick Launch Company. Visit Keswick Museum, Keswick Brewery, the Derwent Pencil Museum and many more attractions. Enjoy some culture with plays and productions at Theatre by the Lake and films at the Alhambra Cinema.

And of course there’s fell walking and climbing with many routes starting from the town which is surrounded by some of Cumbria’s most famous fells.

Walk to the village of Threlkeld, to Castlerigg stone circle overlooking the town, up Latrigg or Catbells fells, or further afield to High Seat, High Spy or Skiddaw itself.
