Promni Health Launches, Marking Next Phase Of Growth
Primary Care Physio (PCP) has announced the launch of its new brand, Promni Health, marking the next phase of growth for the healthcare specialist across clinical services and NHS markets.
The rebrand of BGF-backed Primary Care Physio to Promni Health will allow the company to expand its scope on a national scale, strengthening its role as an NHS clinical services partner.
Alongside the rebrand, the award-winning company has launched a new mental health service offering to coincide with this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week 2026. The move reflects the company’s growing role in supporting patients with increasingly complex and interconnected needs, with a significant overlap between physical health, mental health, and persistent pain.

Ryan Allen, CEO and co-founder of Promni Health, said: “Originally established as a specialist musculoskeletal provider, we have expanded our clinical scope in response to commissioner needs and increasing patient complexity.
“Promni Health represents a natural evolution of everything we’ve built over the past five years. We’ve grown rapidly, expanded our services, and developed into a scaled clinical delivery partner to the NHS.
“At a certain point, it became clear that we had outgrown the Primary Care Physio brand. It no longer reflected the breadth of what we do, the settings we operate in, or the role we play within the system. This rebrand is not about changing who we are - it’s about accurately representing who we’ve become.”
Primary Care Physio was founded in August 2020 by Ryan Allen, Mohammed Nazir, and Professor Gary Shuckford. In 2023, the company secured £8.25 million of investment from BGF - the UK and Ireland’s most active growth capital investor. This has allowed the business to execute an ambitious growth strategy, while helping to alleviate some of the challenges facing the primary healthcare market.
Since its inception, the business has scaled rapidly to become one of the UK’s leading providers of NHS clinical services, now delivering over 1 million patient appointments annually, employing 350+ clinicians, and operating across 200+ Primary Care Networks and 33 of the 36 Integrated Care Boards. The organisation currently supports over 15% of the UK primary care market, reflecting both its scale and the trust placed in its delivery model by NHS commissioners.
Allen commented: “We’re incredibly proud to work exclusively with the NHS, delivering over a million patient appointments every year and supporting systems across the country at scale.
“The NHS is under more pressure than ever, and the need for high-quality, clinically-led, scalable services has never been greater. Promni Health is built to meet that need.
“We’re excited about the future and the role we can play in supporting the NHS when it needs it most - improving access for patients, strengthening services for commissioners, and enabling clinical teams to deliver sustainable care for the long term.”
Promni Health works exclusively with the NHS, designing, mobilising, and managing fully governed clinical services that improve patient access, manage primary care same day demand, strengthen system capacity, and support long-term sustainability. It specialises in first contact physiotherapy, mental health, frailty, pain management, foot health, and women’s health, delivered through integrated, multidisciplinary teams.
Becky Odam, investor at BGF in Yorkshire and the North East, said: “With a strong foundation, national footprint, and proven delivery model, Promni Health is now well positioned as a fully managed clinical services partner to deliver care not only across primary care, but increasingly within community and neighbourhood health systems.
“This rebrand lays the perfect foundation for the company to expand its service offering further, investing in its workforce, and deepening its partnerships across Primary Care Networks and Integrated Care Systems - delivering integrated, high-quality care closer to home.”
The company’s focus on clinical quality, governance, and measurable outcomes across every service it delivers has been recognised nationally, with multiple award wins. These include: winner of Best in Primary Care & Diagnostics at the LaingBuisson Awards 2025; Extended Team Member of the Year at the 2025 General Practice Awards; and finalist at the upcoming HealthInvestor Awards 2026 for Diagnostics Provider of the Year and Primary Care Provider of the Year.
