The Curve has secured investment from a UK tech veteran to pursue growth opportunities, including mergers and acquisitions.

Glyn Heath, the founder and former CEO of a successful IT services and software provider, has invested a significant sum in the Sheffield-based business.

Founded by brothers Paul and James Ridgway, The Curve is a technology consultancy that helps organisations design and deliver software and digital transformation projects.

The company is working to identify acquisition targets in adjacent areas such as IT managed services, cybersecurity and data.

The strategy is focused on serving the mid-market, where organisations are too large for smaller consultancies but too price sensitive to engage global players.

The Curve has formed a new holding company as part of the plan and will remain the group's consultancy arm as complementary businesses are brought together under one umbrella.

The Curve is stepping up business development activities in Sheffield, Leeds – where it opened an office last year – and Manchester and has recruited senior sales and marketing hires.

These include head of sales Claire Howarth, who has 25 years’ experience driving revenue growth and building high-performing teams, and head of marketing Daniel Winfield, a seasoned marketing professional who joined from a global technology consultancy.

Glyn Heath has acted as an advisor to The Curve since 2023. He has a four-decade career in the tech sector and has supported a number of scale-up businesses since exiting his company in 2017.

Glyn Heath said: "I felt an immediate affinity with the team at The Curve and I could see a strong opportunity in the mid-market for the kind of work they do. Technology that would once have been cost-prohibitive is now within reach for these businesses and that's an exciting position for The Curve to be in."

Paul Ridgway, CEO of The Curve, said: "We're delighted to welcome Glyn as an investor in The Curve. His experience in building and scaling technology businesses makes him a natural fit as we pursue this next stage of growth. This is an aggressive strategy and one we're pursuing with real intent – we've brought in experienced people to support it and the ambition is to build something that goes well beyond just another technology consultancy.”
