Chancellor John Healey delivers the Autumn Budget on Wednesday 28th October, the first under Prime Minister Andy Burnham. Here's what Adderstone Living is hoping it brings.

First, clarity on funding. Billions from the Social and Affordable Homes Programme are still to be allocated, and knowing when and how it will be released lets housing associations and developers plan now.

Second, no gaps between programmes, so sites that are ready to go don't stall while the sector waits for the next round.

Third, Funding that reaches local deliverable schemes. With more money moving to mayors, this will ensure that the funds flow quickly to the sites that are ready to use it, in the areas of highest need.

Steve McCoy, Chief Executive Officer, said: “Like many developers we stand ready to deliver the increased affordable housing the country needs, but this needs move from words to delivery on the ground. The government's commitment to affordable housing is real, and it's welcome. What makes the difference is knowing what's coming. When housing associations and councils can plan with confidence, they commit to schemes sooner, and that's when sites come forward and families get homes."
