As the UK’s only direct flight to Cairo in Egypt launched out of Manchester Airport less than a week ago, TUI has put its 2024 winter holiday programme on sale with not only thousands of resorts to choose from, but another prized Middle East destination.

And, for once, Northern holidaymakers, are not only in pole position to take advantage of the Cairo connection but now a pending Luxor link

TUI is selling a brand-new River Nile cruise in November 2024 serviced by weekly charter flights from Manchester to Luxor every Thursday from 7th November 2024 – 24th April 2025.

The sailing itinerary will take in some of Egypt’s most famous ancient sights sailing between Luxor and Aswan with Egyptologists onboard for expert insights.

However, those who prefer to stay on dry land can select from a range of iconic hotels all perfectly positioned on the banks of the River Nile and most within walking distance of Luxor city centre – dubbed the greatest open-air museum in the world.

Top picks include the Hilton Luxor with its infinity pool and views out across the Nile and the Jolie Ville Kings Island Resort with its unique island location.

Holidaymakers travelling from Manchester Airport next winter can find 3*-5* resorts with guaranteed sun in Sharm El Sheik and Hurghada.

An extra weekly flight has been added to both destinations, with four now available to Hurghada on Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday and five to Sharm El Sheik on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday with more ten and eleven night durations.
