Sheffield-born Rowan Campbell-Pilling will head to the Yas Marina Circuit for the second round of the F4 UAE Trophy Series this weekend (5-7 December).
Campbell-Pilling has been signed by Dubai-based Xcel Motorsport for the series after featuring in British F4 for two seasons and accumulating over 22 trophies.
The 18-year-old finished 10th in the 2025 British F4 Drivers’ Championship with 127.5 points after taking home his maiden British F4 victory at Knockhill.
On competing in the F4 UAE Trophy Series after his successful British F4 season, Campbell-Pilling said: “I’m excited to be joining the F4 grid again, but this time as part of the UAE Trophy Series and the Xcel Motorsport team. I’m looking forward to taking on a completely new challenge as I drive on tracks I’ve never raced on before.”
Round 1 of the series took place at the Dubai Autodrome last weekend with Campbell-Pilling taking home two podium finishes across the three races in Qatar.
He currently sits in 4th place in the Drivers' Championship on 34 points with four more races to go after finishing 2nd,10th and 3rd in the opening three races.
The championship which is currently being lead by Theo Palmer, a fellow British F4 driver, will see Campbell-Pilling take on new challenges as he and the other young drivers race in new conditions and territories.

To prepare for his new experiences in the Middle East series Campbell-Pilling has completed extensive ‘nutrition, hydration, and physical training’ alongside his additional simulator work.
On ensuring that he is fully prepared to race in Qatar and Abu Dhabi, Campbell-Pilling said: “I’ve stayed laser focused since the British F4 season ended. I’ve spent my autumn training and getting in the best condition I can ahead of the new series.”
The Yorkshireman has already driven on the Qatar Airways Formula 1 schedule this season as he, alongside the other F4 drivers, joined the F1, F2 and F3 grids at Silverstone’s 2025 Formula 1 Qatar Airways British Grand Prix.
The remaining two weekends of this series will bring the Sheffield-born drivers’ F4 2025 campaign to a close before he begins to prepare for the step-up to the MSV GB3 single seaters, the UK’s leading single-seater category in 2026.
On representing both Sheffield and Yorkshire, Campbell-Pilling said: “I’m honoured to represent Sheffield on an international stage. I want to inspire more young drivers – or future engineers – here in my hometown.”
The second round of the series will take place this weekend (5-7th December) at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi before the series conclusion takes place the weekend after (11-13th December) at the same circuit.
