With Mother's Day in the rearview mirror, a new week signals no less worry over what to get and how to make the days special. So, if you want to gift yourself a treat and make the whole week special, we have just the things to keep you occupied.

Tuesday 17th March Skybet League One: Huddersfield Town v Lincoln City 19:45

The John Smith's Stadium plays host to a top-six clash in League One this week as the Terriers look to progress further into the playoff spots with a victory over a Lincoln side that is holding court at the top of the league.

Huddersfield are looking for a return to the second tier after their shock relegation at the end of the 2023/24 season. After a disappointing 10th-place finish last year, things look to be improving under the stewardship of ex-Norwich boss Liam Manning, who has led the Terriers to a precarious but positive sixth place.

Just three points separate them and Plymouth in tenth in what is becoming an increasingly congested area of the league. The form of the Terriers is not helping, with just two wins in their last seven, giving cause for concern, as well as a missed chance to gain points over bottom-of-the-league Port Vale at the weekend, with only a point taken from a 0-0 draw.

Lincoln continue to be the shock of the season as the league leaders, and in no way is it by chance, as the Imps are in imperious form, with a monumental six wins in a row and an even more astonishing run of four months without a league loss.

Ex-Leeds man Michael Skubala has turned the team completely around after their 11th-place finish last season, which could potentially be turned into a title and a spot in the second tier for Lincoln, which would be their first season back in the Championship since 98/99.

The Imps will be hoping they can bring the good feelings to West Yorkshire and extend their four-point gap to Cardiff at the summit. But a win for Huddersfield would be some statement at a time when they need to start pulling away from the chasing pack outside the playoffs.

Thursday 19th March BetMGM Premier League: Stephen Bunting v Luke Littler 19:40

The PDC hits Dublin this week for night seven of the Premier League, with all still up for grabs in the top four and a number of competitors looking to make Ireland a place of success.

This week, we have chosen to focus in on a matchup that could help shape the playoff places for weeks to come.

Stephen Bunting is on somewhat of a comeback in the league after a slow start that saw him lose every single matchup until night four. The Bullet looked a shell of himself in the opening rounds but managed to pick himself up enough to stage a surprise nightly win in Belfast on the fourth night.

Since then, Bunting has lost narrowly in the opening game of night five and made it to the semi-final in Nottingham last week after a comprehensive 6-1 victory over Josh Rock before being dumped out by current league leader Jonny Clayton.

His recent pickup has seen him lifted off the foot of the table, and whilst still being in seventh, the Bullet is now just two points off the playoffs and four off his next opponent, Luke Littler, in second.

Littler similarly had a stuttered start to his Premier League campaign for his standard, having not made a final appearance until night five.

The Nuke has been tipped to win the whole lot in 2026 and is still on course to make an impact from second spot despite a large gap forming between him and Clayton, who currently has an eight-point lead.

It was night five that finally brought success for Littler, who fought through Josh Rock in the quarters and Gerwyn Price in the semis before seeing off another Welshman in Jonny Clayton in the final.

Last week it was another semi-final exit, however, as Littler fell to his old nemesis and namesake, Luke Humphries.

With the opportunity for points on the line, the result in this one could be the catalyst for a hunt for the top spot for Littler or a chance for The Bullet to make headway into the playoffs.

Friday 20th March Betfred Super League: Bradford Bulls v Huddersfield Giants 20:00

The Super League is back this week after scintillating Challenge Cup action that has seen sides either gain or lose confidence.

For Bradford and Huddersfield it was the latter, and both will now be looking for a turnaround while currently at opposite ends of the table.

The Giants travel to Odsal to face a newly introduced Bulls side that is looking to take to life back in the top flight well, with four points taken from four matches in an early run-in that has seen them take fifth spot.

After an opening round defeat to Hull FC, the Bulls managed to pick themselves up with back-to-back wins over the two French sides in the division, Catalans Dragons and fellow newly promoted side Toulouse.

The good performances continued against St Helens as Bradford put up a valiant fight against one of the top sides, showing their worth but succumbing eventually to a 26-22 scoreline.

It was an early exit from the Challenge Cup for the Bulls, who put in probably their worst performance of the season against Wigan, who ran out 30-6 winners at home.

Despite back-to-back losses in the league and cup, the Bulls will be hoping for redemption against a Huddersfield side that has had a dour start to 2026.

The Giants were hoping for an improvement on their 10th-place finish last season, but the start to the campaign has been one to forget, with not a single win or point achieved in the Super League so far.

Four back-to-back losses is never a good place to be, and the confidence will be at an all-time low without any performances that have shown what the club could be capable of. Especially in their last two league matches against Castleford and Hull KR, which saw the Giants score just 14 points whilst conceding a combined 66.

Their only victory came in the opening round of the Challenge Cup, where they dispatched a Championship Salford side still looking to heal from their financial hardships. But the cup run was halted before it took off the ground when they hosted Wigan and were once again beaten soundly 52-12.

A win for the Giants would do them wonders and finally put them on a good starting point, but with Bradford also needing a win to keep their place in the playoffs, it will be no easy task. No matter the seeming disparity between the two, there will no doubt be drama and action in a Yorkshire derby that could tell us more about how the two will fare in the coming months.
